The following is a list and description of the common techniques my staff and I use and often intermix during a treatment session
Active release: The Breaking down of restrictions and adhesions using movement and pressure.
Myokinesthetic - The working of muscles that are innervated by the same nerve root on both sides of the body to eliminate abnormal muscle guarding and restore proper posture and alignment.
Craniosacral therapy - The use of light manual pressures from the skull down to the tailbone to decrease reflexive guarding in the body related to the fight or flight response in the body.
Trigger point therapy - Compression of trigger points in muscles to decrease spasm, I use positioning of muscles to make this quicker and more tolerable for the patient.
Postural restoration - The use of specific exercises to reduce common underlying muscle imbalance around the pelvis & rib cage.
Kinesio taping - The use of tape to hold and restore proper joint position.
Rolfing, NAGS, and SNAGS
